Following the announcement by the UK Prime Minister and Scotland’s First Minister on the 23rd March we took the decision to temporarily close our laboratory with all staff transitioning to home working. During this period we developed a plan that would allow us to maintain an operational business to support our staff, customers and partners whilst adhering to the government’s current guidelines.
That plan is now in place and we are pleased to announce that our laboratory has re-opened and is once again fully operational.
The steps that we have taken are as follows:
- We are minimising the number of employees onsite at any one time. This will allow social distancing guidance to be fully observed and minimise the number of staff required to travel to work. Staff on site will be focused on laboratory ‘wet work’. As such we are able to continue to provide access to our capabilities.
- Those team members not working onsite will continue to work from home providing the necessary support to those that are. Although our main laboratory is in Dundee, the rest of our team are located across the UK therefore the necessary infrastructure was already in place to allow all team members the flexibility to work remotely as and when appropriate.
- We continue to work with our suppliers and partners to ensure that we have adequate supplies of those essential materials required to support operations. Clearly this is an evolving process and we may encounter issues over the coming weeks but we are confident the situation can be managed.
- We continue to offer customers a 10% discount on all orders placed for Research Tools until further notice to compensate them in advance for any delays we may encounter in shipping orders.
In the meantime we wish all of our customers and partners well and we look forward to continuing to support your businesses and research activities.
Best wishes
The Ubiquigent Team
